A person was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in Oakland’s Coliseum neighborhood, according to Oakland police.
Responding to a ShotSpotter shooting sensor alert, officers arrived at the 6900 block of Hamilton Street shortly before 1:30 p.m. They found a vehicle struck but no victims.
At the crime scene, officers were informed that a person with a gunshot wound had arrived at a local hospital and was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The victim’s name has been withheld pending notification of next of kin.
