OAKLAND – A local resident was betrayed by his own ankle instructor, which led to his recent arrest and to a new case of firearms, according to the judicial archives.
Maurice Herron, 27, was arrested for suspicion of murder, after the police identified him as a possible suspect during the April 19 homicide of Roosevelt Jones, 33. But Herron avoided the accusations of murder and was rather accused of possession of a firearm that was found when the police caught up on April 21.
Jones would have been shot dead by his attempted victim of qualified theft, who, according to the police, killed him in self -defense. The cousin of Jones, 33, Jashawndre Uphsaw, was arrested and accused of murder under the theory that he was armed and helped Jones in the flight.
Herron became a possible suspect because the authorities locate the thieves’ car in Hayward a few hours after the murder, and Herron’s girlfriend was driving her. Herron wore an ankle instructor due to an outstanding box. The data from the aircraft has placed it on the homicide site and in a hospital where Jones was deposited, according to the authorities.
The police alleged that shortly after midnight on April 19, Jones and Upshaw approached a Richmond resident on the 18th street block from the 18th street in Uptown Oakland, and tried to steal it for a diamond necklace. When Jones launched the victim of potential flight on the sidewalk, he replied by removing a pistol and pulling Jones several times.
Herron, who has been found guilty of eight crimes since 2015, has been arrested two more times this year. He was accused of possession of a pistol stolen in January, released from prison and again arrested suspected of possession of burglary tools in February, according to the judicial archives.
In addition to his new firearm affair, Herron is also accused of probation of violation of a previous burglary case. On April 30, he deposited a deposit of $ 180,000 and was released from prison, according to the judicial archives.
