Two people were killed in a fiery crash in suburban Oak Lawn on Sunday, with at least one of the vehicles torn in two by the force of the impact.
Oak Lawn police say the crash happened just south of 87th Street Sunday evening, forcing the closure of Avenue Cicero between 87th and 91st Streets.
Diego Lopez, 18, and Oscar Garcia, 20, both died from their injuries sustained in the multi-vehicle crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
It was not immediately known if there were any other victims involved in the collision, as several vehicles were seen at the crash site with heavy damage.
There is also no official word on the cause of the collision, nor the circumstances of the accident.
The investigation into the accident continues.
