“Hello Kitty”

🔵🔵🔵🔵

🔵🟡🔵

Hello Strands fans. No prizes for coming up with today’s topic based on the “Hello Kitty” theme. It was clear that it was going to be about cats, and that was more or less confirmed when I saw the word TORTOISESHELL winding its way across the first three lines of the board.

TABBY was just below, and I realized that the errant “X” in the lower right corner must belong to TUXEDO.

Although I have three cats roaming my house, my knowledge of coat types is running a bit thin at this point. But it turns out that BLACK is a distinct type, as is ORANGE (on this side of the Atlantic, we tend to call them “orange cats”).

At this point I had enough to go find the spangram: FURCOAT, which goes from left to right of the board. All that was left was CALICO in the bottom left corner.

I can see this last one causing some problems if you’re not familiar with feline coat names, but I found today’s puzzle to be quite fun overall.
