Are you looking for tips and answers for Sunday hookups instead? You can find them here:
Hey, everyone! Welcome to the start of a new week.
I hope those of you in the US having a long weekend make the most of it. After all, there is absolutely nothing important happening in the world today. Nothing at all.
TikTok disappeared, then it came back, so if you want to spend all day scrolling through videos, that’s fine by me. You have my permission.
Before we started, I started a discussion group to Relationships and this column on Discord. You can discuss each game (and other topics) with me and others. I’m always interested in hearing how others approach the game, so join us! It’s fun.
It’s also the best way to give me your comments on the column, especially on the rare (!) occasions when I miss something.
Today New York Times Relationships advice and answers for Monday January 20 are coming soon.
Relationships is a free and popular program New York Times daily pun. You receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on the New York Times gaming website or app.
A grid of 16 words is presented to you. Your task is to arrange them into four groups of four by determining the links that unite them. Groups can be things like clickable items, names of participants in a research study, or words preceded by a body part.
There is only one solution to each puzzle, and you will need to be careful when dealing with words that can fit into multiple categories. You can mix up the words to perhaps help you see the connections between them.
Each group is color coded. The yellow group is generally the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is generally the most difficult. The purple group often involves puns.
Select four words that you think go together and press Submit. If you make a guess and are wrong, you will lose a life. If you’re close to having a decent group, you may see a message telling you that you’re one word away from succeeding, but you’ll still need to figure out which one to swap.
If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen with the help of a few clues, and, if you’re really struggling, today’s post Relationships answers. As with Word and other similar games, it’s easy to share the results with your friends on social networks and group chats.
If you have a New York Times All Access or Games subscription, you can access the publication Relationships archive. This includes all previous games from Relationshipsso you can go back and play the ones you missed.
Aside from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my tips for each grid via Google if you need them! Simply click here and add the date of the game you need clues or answers for to the search query.

I got the blues almost immediately. The spinach was a dead giveaway. Popeye has ANCHOR tattoos on his giant FOREARMS and he uses a PIPE.
With the forearm out of the way as part of a red herring of arm-related things, it was easy to spot the yellow ones. From there, COOKIE and FITTED made the purples apparent enough for me. The greens (whose link I understood) remained with a quick victory.
