Lashawn McNeil, the 47-year-old suspect charged with shooting NYPD officers in New York on Friday, killing one and seriously injuring the other, has died, authorities say.

The NYPD confirmed the death to Fox News on Monday afternoon.

McNeil is accused of shooting NYPD officers Justin River and Wilbert Mora at his mother’s apartment, where they had gone in response to her 911 call reporting a domestic dispute.

The ambush attack in a back hallway killed 22-year-old rookie Rivera and sent 27-year-old Mora to a hospital in Harlem. He was transferred to New York University Langone Medical Center on Sunday, still in critical condition.

A third officer, later identified as Sumit Sulan, was in another room when the shots were fired. He pulled out his own gun and seriously injured the suspected shooter.
