A 23-year-old Brooklyn McDonald’s employee who was shot in the neck after an argument over food has died, on New York Post reported Friday.
Matthew Webb died following the incident that occurred outside the Bedford-Stuyvesant restaurant on Monday, according to the New York Police Department (NYPD).
Authorities considered the incident a homicide and the investigation was ongoing, the Job report says:
Michael Morgan, 20, has previously been charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm for blasting Webb in anger at his mother who was being served cold fries.
He is expected to face upgraded homicide charges, prosecutors said at a hearing Thursday, even before Webb’s death was confirmed.
Video footage showed customers inside the restaurant and a citizen expressed her feelings about what happened.
“With all the things we have to worry about now, are they fighting over fries?” she told ABC 7:
Webb was working that evening when the suspect’s mother, Lisa Fulmore, complained that her fries were cold.
She then asked to speak to the manager on duty, but the employees reportedly laughed. The woman was FaceTiming with Morgan, who showed up at the scene.
Morgan then got into a fight with Webb, and when the pair finally walked out, prosecutors say, the suspect punched Webb in the face and then shot him.

Democratic Mayor Eric Adams’ New York City suffered the biggest increase in violent crime.
Meanwhile, the girlfriend of the suspect in the recent case has also been charged with possession of weapons after she was accused of giving the gun to Morgan.
The woman was arrested and held on $50,000 cash bail after she allegedly admitted to having the gun.
“Morgan has also been charged with an earlier murder after he allegedly confessed during questioning about the McDonald’s shooting,” said the Job report said, adding that last year he allegedly killed a man whose name was Kevin Holloman.
