According to Brooklyn Park firefighters, Shawn Conway, the house that was affected by the plane was considered a “total loss”.
Brooklyn Park, Minnesota – Officials think that one person was on the unique motor plane that crashed into a Brooklyn Park house on Saturday, killing them.
Aviation accident investigator for the National Transportation Safety Board, Tim Sorensen, told journalists at a press conference on Sunday that the preliminary information of the agency gave investigators to believe that the person who piloted the plane was solo.
The press conference intervened after the arrival of NTSB officials to treat the site before removing the plane and taking it to a secure location for a more in -depth assessment. Sorensen said they would examine if factors such as weather, pilot experience and plane status and maintenance were involved.
“On behalf of the whole agency, we would like to exercise our condolences to the family, friends and community members who were affected by this tragic accident,” said Sorensen.
Adding: “We don’t have many answers at the moment.”
Sorensen said that a preliminary report will be published in the coming weeks and will include “factual information they have determined” at the time. He said it would not discuss a possible cause and that the victim’s identity will be released separately via the Legalist from the county of Hennepin.
According to Brooklyn Park’s firefighters, Shawn Conway, the house affected by the plane was considered a “total loss”, while another house in the south has undergone minor external damage. Conway said officials were in contact with the owners and are working to meet their changing needs.
“We are in current conversations with them … supporting all families, friends, dear beings that are involved, they are our priority …”, he said. “They lost their house immediately, as you can see by the damage, and we support them with their needs at the moment.”
Conway said local authorities approached a more favorable agency role, as the investigation was officially given to the NTSB.
On Saturday, the Brooklyn Park fire service responded to the incident just afternoon. The FAA said that a small plane had left monks’ international airport in Iowa and went to the airport of the Blaine d’Anoka county in Minneapolis when he crashed.
“As a city, we are grateful that there was no victim in the residence itself. Our hearts go to families and people who were on the plane,” said the mayor of Brooklyn Park Hollies Winston.
Joe McCoy de Kare spoke with one of the owners, who said that she and her husband “take him one day at the same time” after having survived the test.
