Teachers, students, podcasters: good news! Since we wrapped up our sixth annual competition (and our first-ever fourth-grade competition) last week, many teachers and educators have asked us for more time – to complete class assignments, get more students involved, and for just a little more time to make these podcasts shine!

And so, we listened: we’re extending the competition deadline until the end of this month. Student podcasts are now expected Friday, May 31 at midnight ET.

As a reminder, here’s how the NPR Student Podcast Challenge works: Students create a podcast alone, with classmates or an extracurricular group. Then their teacher, educator or any adult aged 18 or older can submit it to us here. This competition is for students in grades 4-12, and each podcast must be between three and eight minutes long. The winning student will receive a certificate, trophy and their podcast will be featured on NPR programs like Morning edition Or All things Considered. You can find our competition rules here.

You have questions ? Review our submission guidelines and feel free to email us at studentpodcastchallenge@npr.org anytime. Good luck to everyone!
