The next cinematographic round of the four riders has a new title: “Now you see me: now you don’t.” And the third adventure of robbery of thief magicians will not be their last – a fourth film is in development with Ruben Fleischer returning to Direct.
“We were so satisfied with the director’s cup, we are already developing the next chapter,” the president of the Lionsgate cinematographic group, Adam Fogelson in Cinemacon, the annual cinema convention on Tuesday morning. “We can’t wait for the public to discover what he did with the third film and delighted that he is doing even more magic with us.”
Before Fleischer puts himself at work on the Fourquel, “Now You See Me 3” will open in theaters on November 14. Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Isla Fisher and Morgan Freeman will take up their roles from the first two films while Diana Greenblatt and Rosamund Pike will join the distribution.
At Cinemacon, Lionsgate brought a first look to the third episode, a series of “Now You See Me 2” of 2016 and “Now You See Me” in 2016. As recycling, the series focuses on the illusionists known under the name of four riders (Eisenberg, Harrelson, Franco and Fisher). However, they are dissolved in the first moments of this third film while the character of Eisenberg said to a new generation of twisted magicians that his former comrades died. “For me,” he clarifies. “Things have become too real for them. They abandoned things.”
The Threequel resumes with a diamond robbery which involves two generations of illusionists – the horsemen who have apparently left the retirement and join the new arrivals Greenblatt, judge Smith and Dominic Sessa – to eliminate dangerous criminals.
“I like our chances,” says the character of Greenblatt in the trailer, which has not yet been revealed to the public.
The first two films were commercial successes-and the kind of production halfway up that traditional studios rarely in green light these days. The original brought in $ 350 million while the suite generated $ 334 million.
Bobby Cohen, who was developing originally and produced all the films in the series, will come back to produce the new episode alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout. Meredith Wieck will supervise the Lionsgate project.
“Direct” now you see me: now you are not doing “was as fun as making a film in my career,” said Fleischer. “He combines two of my favorite things – films and magic – and working with this incredible distribution was really magical. Of course, I want to continue.”
