Novak Djokovic added another pen to his cap on Thursday after progressing to the semi-finals of the Open of Miami in progress with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory against Sebastian Korda in the United States. The Grand Chelem champion at 24 times, who had realized his dream for life to win Olympic gold in Paris last year, thus became the oldest man to reach the semi-finals of a Masters 1000 to 37 and 10 months.

The match was initially to take place on Wednesday, but ended up being reprogrammed Thursday after the quarter -final match of Emma Raducanu against the American Jessica Pegula only finished after 11 p.m. local time.

The 37 -year -old Serbian took a good start against Korda, breaking early to get a first advantage that he never let slide, but Korda showed great resilience in the second set, taking the competition with an equality break.

But the fourth seeded, in search of his seventh title of Open from Miami, but first since 2016, is again to strong, sealing victory with a powerful AS.

“Probably the best service performance”: Djokovic

Djokovic, who will face Grigor Dimitrov Bulgare on Friday, had no doubt what was the key to his success after having won 84% of his first service points.

“A word, serving. I served very well, probably the best service performance, not only here, but for a long time,” he told journalists.

“Eleven as, when I needed to find the first service. It makes life in the field easier when you feel your service. I needed it in the second set when I think Korda felt her kicks much better.”

A victory in Miami would be a simple brand title for the Grand Slam champion 24 times and he said that he was happy to put a first level level.

“I obviously play the best tennis I have played for some time. It’s great when I do tournaments like this and performs like this. It motivates me and encourages me to continue more,” he said.

Czech adolescent Jakub Mensik walked in his first semi masters when he defeated Arthur France 7-6 (7/5), 6-1.

Wednesday, son won one of the biggest victories in his career when he beat the head of the head Alexander Zverev, but he had a hard time repeating the feat against the impressive 19 -year -old Mensik.

The big service of the Czech Czech was too much for the sons, who had crossed battles in three sets with Frances Tiafoe and Zverev and shown signs of fatigue.

“It’s incredible. I think the biggest result of my career, so I’m happy to have continued since the first round,” said Mensik.

“This is the key, to keep the focus for two weeks, because it is always difficult. The work is not done.”

Mensik broke out with an advance at the beginning of 4-1, but then left the sons in the competition with the 20-year-old Frenchwoman forcing an equality break.

But after having survived this return of son, Mensik was solid at the rock in the second set while he was heading for the victory in 75 minutes.

Mensik, ranked 54th in the world, will then face the third American seeded Taylor Fritz, who crossed an exciting battle with Italian Matteo Berrettini with a 7-5, 6-7 (7/9), 7-5.

Berrettini seemed buried during the second set of Tie-Brish when he dragged 6-3, but his booming service and some incredible feedback gave him the opportunity of a decisive whole. In total, Berrettini recorded six match points in the second set.

It was PIP and Tuck with the pair in service until Fritz, working hard on the basic line, broke to go 6-5 then maintained for the victory.

“Obviously, I gave myself a lot of chance throughout the match. I would have liked to be able to get there in the second set,” said Fritz.

“I think I made things extremely difficult for me. He increased his level and played very well in the third, so I had to work, you know, very difficult to win the third set and also increase my level.

“After not having closed it, not winning these match points, I think I showed one of my biggest forces in reset and the possibility of winning the third.”
