‘Not taking that f–king job’

A furious candidate was in disbelief after learning during an interview that he would be paid $12 an hour for a position at TJ Maxx.

The man, whose full name was not released but went by the name @sobeatmyass, took to social media in front of 362,000 viewers saying he was “not taking the f***ing job” on TikTok .

“Why the hell did I have a job interview at TJ Maxx the other day, and then everything went well, but in the end he (employer) told me they pay $12 per hour and were paid weekly,” the candidate, who appears to be from Pennsylvania, said.

“In my head I’m like yeah, I’m not taking this fucking job because like what the fuck. That’s why their clothes are so cheap because they don’t pay these people,” he continued in his speech.

The plaintiff said he ended up taking the position when TJ Maxx called him back to say he had been hired, but he has since second-guessed his decision-making.

“I’m really baffled. I don’t know why I couldn’t say “no” to that man on the phone earlier, knowing I didn’t want to do this job. Now I’m probably not going to show up because I don’t even know what to do,” said @sobeatmyass, confused.

“Because $12 an hour, I couldn’t even wipe my ass on $12 an hour.”

At the end of his tirade, the stressed employee asked viewers to let him know exactly what he should do.

According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the starting minimum wage at TJ Maxx for Pennsylvania locations is $7.25 an hour.

The popular retail store, known for selling discounted designer clothing, appliances, jewelry and more, is known for paying minimum wage for non-managerial positions.

Many viewers told the new employee that he should keep his job if he is currently unemployed, but should remain vigilant if he is still unhappy with his salary.

“Some money is better than no money!” And paid weekly. I’ll do it until you find something better! Good luck to you !! said one cheerful commenter.

“Well, you already said yes. If you’re not working, work there and keep applying and interviewing elsewhere,” another person advised.

Some drew attention to the frustrated man who needed to speak out and negotiate his low salary.

“Dude, you gotta negotiate. I have to say I would love to but I really need $15/hour. They start at the bottom, but they usually have permission from the company to go up a certain amount,” one person wrote.

“Just call them back and tell them you received another offer for more money. Sometimes they come back to increase your offer! » another replied.
