SEOUL — North Korea has floated about 260 balloons loaded with garbage and other waste across the border toward South Korea, the South Korean military said Wednesday, in direct response to the leaflets anti-Pyongyang from the South.
The balloons began landing Tuesday evening. The South’s Joint Chiefs of Staff sent notices to residents warning them not to come into contact with the balloons and to report them to the police or military.
