Lando Norris kept the McLaren white sheet intact at the top of the Imola ranking during the third training session on Saturday for the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagne of F1.
Norris directed the teammate of McLaren Oscar Piastri with the world champion of Red Bull Max Verstappen in third.
In the middle of the burning track temperatures in Imola, some teams were in a hurry to leave early.
Lewis Hamilton briefly directed the first races before being demoted by Pitri then Verstappen. Isack Hadjar of Racing Bulls also had a brief moment in the lead while the track handle was recovered.
Halfway, most of the average type race touched an end with Verstappen in the lead with the kind authorization of a 1m15.078.
The teams then went to qualification simulations on softs, using the new C6 compound of Pirelli.
Initially, Norris was the only driver to improve the reference to the average lime of Verstappen with a 1m14,897, the first round below the barrier 1m15 this weekend.
The British second round of push had to be abandoned after underestimating Tamburello, leading through the gravel trap. The teammate Piastri recorded a 1m14,997, exactly a tenth slower.
After initially not improving his first soft type race, wasting time in the second and third sectors, Verstappen reappeared in the last minutes of the one hour session, but again, he could not chain a faster tour together, ending 0.181 backwards.
On board the Mercedes, the recruit Andrea Kimi Antonelli took the fourth row just over half of the McLaren, while the teammate George Russell spent a less comfortable moment with the driving quality of the silver arrow.
Charles Leclerc finished fifth for Ferrari, while Carlos Sainz continued a promising start to the weekend for Williams in sixth. Hadjar finally contented himself with the seventh, with Russell, the second Williams of Alex Albon and the remaining Ferrari of Hamilton ending the top 10.

The session was completed without major incidents, unless a harmless rotation for Liam Lawson from RB in Tamburello.
Yuki Tsunoda was a discreet 17th row after complaining about “Zero Grip” in the Red Bull, while the Franco Colapinto returned series was satisfied with the 18th on the Alpine.
The qualifications for the Grand Prix of Imola Romagna, which should be the last of the classic Italian place for the moment, will start at 4:00 p.m. local time.
