Nomura: It makes no sense that the BoJ will intervene soon

The Nikkei reports that Nomura said this:

  • despite a particularly covered decline on the part of those responsible since the end of March when the yen oscillated above the level of 152, “nothing says that they will intervene any time soon”.

The Mitsubishi Trust in the banking sector added:

  • JPY fell below 152 in one fell swoop, so intervention could well happen at any time

USDJPY traded in a range up and down today, but reached new highs dating back to 1990. Most recently, the price hit a new high today at 153.304. The pair ran above 152.00 after the CPI data.
