A film taken from Crime in Delhi
Shefali Shah and Jim Sarbh missed the International Emmys for Best Actress and Best Actor for their performances in Crime in Delhi And rocket boys respectively. The Best Actress award went to Mexican actress Karla Souza for her role in Dive. Other nominees in the category were Connie Nielsen in the Danish project The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen and the British Billie Piper in I Hate Suzie Too. The best actor award was won by British actor Martin Freeman for his role in The answering machine.
Crime in Delhi, now in its second season, is a police procedural starring Shefali Shah as police officer Vartika Chaturvedi. The first season of the series, based on the 2012 Delhi gang rape, won the Best Drama Series award at the International Emmy Awards in 2020. The second season is based on the criminal group known as “Chaddi Baniyan Gang.” rocket boysalso in its second season, is based on the lives of physicists Homi J Bhabha, played by Jim Sarbh, and Vikram Sarabhai, played by Ishwak Singh.
Vir Das earned his second nomination and first win for Best Comedy Series. Producer Ekta Kapoor is this year’s recipient of the International Emmy Direction Award.

Shefali Shah’s lead role was opposite Manoj Bajpayee in the 1998 film. Satya in which she plays Pyaari, the wife of her character Bhiku Mhatre. She is known for her work in Monsoon Wedding, Dil Dhadakne Do, Darlings and other films. Her TV and web credits include Tara, Banegi Apni Baat and last year’s Humans. Shefali was recently seen in the film Three of us.
Jim Sarbh, known for his stage work, made his film debut in a 2016 biopic Neerja. Since then, his film credits include Padmaavat, Sanju, A Death in the Gunj, Gangubai Kathiawadi and more recently Ms Chatterjee against Norway. He also appeared in the web series Made in Heaven And Four more photos please.
The 51st edition of the International Emmy Awards took place in New York and was hosted by American magician Penn Jillette, half of the duo Penn And Teller.
