‘No sympathy’: UnitedHealth loses $63 billion after assassination of former CEO

UnitedHealth Group is faced with a staggering situation loss in his market value following the sudden murder of the former CEO.

Thompson, who first joined the healthcare company in 2004 and became its CEO in 2021, was 50 years old when he was shot twice in the back and once in the leg on the morning of December 4, 2024.

Since then, the former Ivy League student has been pleading not guilty on state murder and terrorism charges as he sat shackled and seated in a Manhattan courtroom on December 23.

He is currently being held in federal prison at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center after being extradited from Pennsylvania. Some previously suspected he would be transferred to Rikers Island jail.
