A small flying plane from Iowa to Minnesota in the United States crashed into a suburban house and caught it, officials announced on Saturday.
The plane had taken off around 1220 local hours (1720 BST) before crashing into a residential area in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, said Federal Aviation Administration.
Investigators said that it was not clear how many people were on the plane, but Brooklyn Park firefighters Shawn Conway said there were no survivors among the passengers. No one inside the house has been reported.
The National Transportation Safety Board said that he intended to investigate the cause of the accident, which remained unknown.
The agency is on the way to the places of Minnesota. He said he was expecting to be on the field on Sunday.
“Once there, investigators will start the scene documentation process and examine the plane. The plane will then be recovered in a secure installation for a more in -depth assessment,” the agency said in a statement.
Videos on social networks show that the house in which the plane crashed was swallowed up by the flames while members of the local fire service tried to extinguish it.
Chef Conway said he had turned into a “fire of fully involved structure” when the firefighters arrived on the scene.
Brooklyn Park, where the plane crashed, is a suburb of the capital of Minnesota, Minneapolis. The city of 82,000 inhabitants is around 11 miles to the north.
The Minnesota government, Tim Waltz, said that his team was “in contact with local officials at Brooklyn Park and that we closely monitor the situation”.
“Recognizing the first stakeholders who answer the call,” he added.
This incident follows a number of recent and nearby plane accidents that drew the attention of the American public after President Donald Trump encouraged his office to make discounts of federal agencies.
According to the Associated Press, hundreds of employees responsible for helping air security have been dismissed.
