It will see a number of national team-mates become opponents, pitting England and Arsenal duo Ramsdale and Bukayo Saka against France and Gunners star Saliba.

On Thursday, Blues defender Ibrahima Konaté revealed he exchanged messages with Liverpool team-mate and England right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of the quarter-final showdown.

However, Ramsdale reveals Arsenal players are taking a different approach.

When asked if he had any contact with Saliba, Ramsdale told talkSPORT: “No, nothing.

“I asked Bukayo this morning if he had spoken to him – and he said no.

“It automatically blocked me from texting him. I saw him speaking at a press conference of [Gabriel] Jesus, and that he did not speak to him.

“So it’s the French team against the English, there are no friends.”

Despite his role as a substitute for Jordan Pickford, the Ramsdale keeper admits he can’t wait for the game to begin.

“Buzzing, excited,” he said. “It’s a good test for us and we’re ready.

“Three out of four clean sheets. Most goals scored in the tournament. We can only be confident.

“It’s been a long preparation for this game and I think a few of us just want it to be played so we can put on a show.”
