The stake is not only who becomes president, but that Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the boss of the Trzaskowski party, can take off his program after almost two years of obstruction by President Andrzej Duda, an ally of the POS. For IPs, the result will determine whether the defeat that the party suffered during the 2023 legislative elections was only a temporary setback.
Trzaskowski and Nawrocki are practically level in the polls before the runoff on June 1, suggesting that even small changes in attitudes or the participation rate could decide on the result. During the first round of the presidential vote on May 18, Trzaskowski advanced just under 31.4% of the vote, while Nawrocki followed closely with 29.5%.
The surprisingly solid demonstration of the extreme right among the other contenders could be essential to the end result. Sławomir Mentzen of the Konfederacja party arrived third with 14.8%, and the anti-Semitic and anti-UEGGORZ Braun agitator unexpected 6.3% to place fourth.
The extreme right has thus exceeded in front of the centrist and the contenders on the left, who only harvested 14% collectively among three candidates.
Stretch
This placed Trzaskowski in a tight place, needing to call on far -right and left -wing voters, while mobilizing his main supporters to present themselves in greater numbers in the polling stations on June 1.
“Your mobilization is essential because it will be really a thin margin like a razor,” said Trzaskowski during the debate. “Choose a president who simply likes people. Choose a president who respects others. Choose a president for whom values like honesty and ordinary human decency are principles that guide his life,” said Trzaskowski.
