NJ Democratic Senator Bob Menendez wishes the United States men’s soccer team well the day after their loss to the Netherlands

New Jersey Senator Bob Menendez has a fever for the United States Men’s National Soccer Team and he hopped on Twitter to cheer on the boys to win the World Cup…a day after the elimination of the tournament team.
The Jersey Democrat took to his Twitter account on Saturday to say: “Wishing the USMNT the best of luck once again in today’s FIFA World Cup game against the Netherlands. Let’s keep going!” Daily mail reported.
Menendez’s wishes, however, were a day late and a dollar short because the United States Men’s National Team lost their game to the Netherlands the day before the senator’s tweet.
As noted by Outkick, Menendez’s tweet came 11 hours and 45 minutes after the men’s team had already lost the very game that Menendez wished the team luck in winning.
The senator’s office quickly deleted the late tweet, but not before it was seen and earned its due mockery from former footballer Taylor Twellman:

The mockery quickly mounted:
Are you saying we still have a chance?

Oh man, I sure hope they make a touchdown pass and win the test
