During the India’s annual conference at Harvard University in Boston, Ambani shared its deep conviction that India deserves to host the Olympic Games as soon as possible. It highlighted the impressive economic growth of the country, arguing why is the ideal moment for India to host the sporting event of marquee.
“I believe that India must have the Olympic Games. We are going to be the third economy in the world. If you look at the 10 largest economies in the world, nine countries have hosted the Olympic Games, but only India has not done so. So I find it really strange. We want to see the Olympic Games hosted in our country. It will be our pride to welcome this. This is the reason, I think that the Prime Minister also mentioned that India will spout for the 2036 Olympic Games, “said Nita Ambani.
Ambani, who is also a member of the International Olympic Committee (CIO), shared the India plan to host sustainable Olympic Games. She said that if India could accommodate the 2026 edition, it will be the “most green Olympic games of all time”.
“I think we plan to welcome durable Olympic Games where we plan to renovate and reuse our existing stadiums and our existing campuses. If we are submitted and get it, I assure you that we will be the most green Olympic Games of all time … I think India is at the right time now to host the Olympic Games ”, She added.
During the inauguration of the 2025 national games, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed his commitment to India’s candidacy for the 2036 Olympic Games.
