Nintendo finally opens a second store in the United States

It’s taken Nintendo twenty years, but the company is finally ready to open a second store in the United States. The new location in San Francisco’s Union Square is expected to open in 2025. Details on Nintendo San Francisco are slim at the moment, but the company said it will allow “visitors from near and far to discover the world of Nintendo, its products and characters.” More information will be revealed before the inauguration ceremony.

Nintendo opened its New York store at Rockefeller Center 19 years ago this month, although there was previously a Pokémon Center in the same location. In addition to merchandise and kiosks where visitors can play Switch games, the New York store has a mini-museum showcasing older consoles and a boat full of Amiibo.

The company only opened permanent stores in Japan in 2019 and now has three in its home country. Nintendo also has a private employee location at its US headquarters in Redmond, Washington.
