The star of the succession Sarah Snook and singer Nicole Scherzinger were among the big winners at the Tony Awards on Sunday.
Scherzinger was named best actress in a musical for her role in Sunset Boulevard, the minimalist restart of Jamie Lloyd from the musical of Andrew Lloyd Webber.
In a speech of emotional acceptance, Scherzinger thought about his recent success of Broadway, which occurred two decades after turning to glory with the dolls of Pussycat.
“Growing up, I always felt like I did not belong, but you all made me feel that I belong to and I finally got home,” she said. “If there is someone who feels like not to belong or that your time has not come, do not give up.”
She added: “Continue to give and give because the world needs your love and your light now more than ever. It is a will that love always wins.”
The singer and former judge of X Factor won the same prize at the British Tonys equivalent, the Olivier Awards, for her performance in the original West End Run.
She said it was an “honor” to work with the composer Lord Lloyd Webber, and paid tribute to Lloyd, saying: “You saw in me what no one else has done. You have given us new ways to dream and you have changed my life forever.”
Scherzinger also played as if we have never said goodbye during the ceremony, and was presented by Glenn Close, who played Desmond at Sunset Boulevard when he played on Broadway in 1995.
The Tony Awards, organized by Wicked Star Cynthia Erivo at the Radio City Music Hall in New York, celebrate the best in American theater, and in particular Broadway.
Snook also repeated her Olivier victory, taking the best leading actress in a play, to play the 26 roles in an adaptation on stage of a woman from Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray.
In her speech of acceptance, the actress said: “It means so much for a little Australian girl to be here in Broadway.
“(The image of Dorian Gray) is presented as a person’s show, and I don’t feel alone any night I do this show. There are so many people on stage, what works and behind the scene making it work.”
The other winners may have included a happy ending, About two obsolete robots that find the connection. He brought back to the house the best musical, while his star Darren Criss, who appeared before in Glee, also won an actor prize.
“I have a pride so huge to be part of this season, especially diversified and exquisite Broadway this year,” he said.
Counting tribute to his wife, he added: “Your love and your support for me and our beautiful children, combined with the miracle to work on something as magical as perhaps a happy ending, has been and will always be rewarded.”
Purpose, on an African-American family that met in Chicago, was named best piece, a month after winning the prize for the Drama of Pulitzer 2025.
Meanwhile, Cole Escola was appointed best actor in a room for Oh Mary!, A reimagination in an act of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln through the eyes of his wife – an alcoholic who makes life that dreams of life as a cabaret star.
Sunset Boulevard has also won the best musical renewal, while Eureka Day, about a school in California which has to face its vaccination policy after an epidemic of disagreements among students, won the best renewal of a room.
Stranger Things: The First Shadow, an adaptation on stage of the Hit Netflix Show, and Buena Vista Social Club, which tells the story of the Cuban musical group, was among the other winners.

British actor Jak Malone was the best star actor in a musical – the equivalent of Tonys of the Actor of Support – for the Mincemeat operation, the history of the British intrigue to deceive the Nazis during the Second World War.
Elsewhere during the ceremony, Erivo was joined on stage by the singer Sara Bareilles for an interpretation of tomorrow of the musical Annie, in homage to those of the theatrical community died throughout the year. The song composer, Charles Strouse, died last month.
The presenters of the event included Samuel L Jackson, Oprah Winfrey, Ben Stiller and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The original Hamilton casting met to make a delighted mixture delighted and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show.
