Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Streep ‘BLL’ Reunion

It’s been almost five years since the last episode of Big little lies season 2 aired on HBO, and while the series hasn’t been renewed for a third run (at least not yet), a few members of the Monterey Five reunited on the red carpet this weekend.

Nicole Kidman received the AFI Life Achievement Award at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Saturday, and her co-stars Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Strep came out to show their support. Unfortunately, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley and Zoë Kravitz were not present.

Hosting a mini red carpet reunion, the trio posed together, alongside Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Lee Daniels, while wearing a slew of stylish looks. Woman of the moment Kidman opted for a sequinned gold dress with a long train, while Witherspoon kept it classic in a little black dress with a plunging neckline and high slit.

Streep, for her part, wore a large black maxi dress adorned with an all-over pink and yellow floral design and accessorized with her signature thick-rimmed glasses.

Although it wasn’t exactly the reunion we were expecting, it kept us going. In November, Kidman all but confirmed that a third season of Big little lies will be released soon.

During a Q&A session at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida, the actress told the audience, “I loved Big little lies because it happened at a time in my life where I had my children, and I thought I was going to retire, and then this situation happened, where Reese Witherspoon and I were able to produce this series . And then you all watched it and made it a huge success.

She added teasingly, “And we’ll bring you a third, just for your information.”
