NFL Week 11 preview: Chiefs look to split from rivals AFC West, New York teams look to take control

Week 11 of the 2022 NFL season features a huge slate of games for many teams looking to stay in contention for the NFL playoffs, and things are tighter than ever.
After the Tennessee Titans defeated the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, the gap between the Titans and the Indianapolis Colts, second in the AFC South, and the Packers’ deficit in the NFC North to the Vikings in Minnesota rose a little more.
Five of the eight division leaders are separated by at least one game. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are on the bye week, are the only team at the .500 mark and lead the division.

The week will end in Mexico when the Arizona Cardinals take on the San Francisco 49ers.

The Buffalo Bills will be looking to get back on track after a demoralizing loss to the Minnesota Vikings last week. Josh Allen will need to make sure he smooths out mistakes to prevent the team from spiraling out of control.
The Cleveland Browns must continue to find ways to win with the return of Deshaun Watson on the horizon. Nick Chubb and company just need a little punch to pull off a few wins, but time is running out.
To make things more interesting, the game has been moved from Buffalo to Ford Field as a massive snowstorm hits western New York.
Patriots (5-4) vs. Jets (6-3) — 1 p.m. ET, CBS

The Jets are still head coach of the Jets against the Patriots, Bill Belichick, but this time the Jets are one game behind the Miami Dolphins for the AFC East lead. The Dolphins are on a bye week and New York has the advantage against them.
Mac Jones did enough to keep the Patriots in playoff contention, but it was the defense that got the better of the Patriots. New England is sixth in points allowed and 13th in yards allowed. So here’s a classic rivalry match.
Giants (7-2) vs. Lions (3-6), 1 p.m. ET, FOX

The Philadelphia Eagles need another error to encourage an NFC East tie with the New York Giants. New York hosts the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Keeping small teams away is going to be key for the Giants and that ability becomes more valuable every week. New York has a lot of wins against a lot of bad teams, but shutting those teams out will help them qualify for the playoffs.
Detroit pulled off an electrifying win over the Bears last week, but it’s one of those classic games in which an average team could easily beat the Giants. Jared Goff just needs to fire a few clean passes and surprise the Giants defense. It looks like one of those games.

Vikings (8-1) vs. Cowboys (6-3) – 4:25 p.m. ET, CBS

The Vikings found a way to win against the Bills last week. Patrick Peterson’s two interceptions and Kirk Cousins’ valiant efforts propelled the team to victory. Justin Jefferson will give the Cowboys secondary a hard time defending him.
Dallas blew a two-touchdown lead over the Packers to lose to Green Bay and trying to get their way down the road wasn’t easy. The Cowboys are 2-2 from AT&T Stadium. Dak Prescott and the offense need to get back on track to avoid falling out of the playoffs and finding themselves battling week after week.
Chargers (5-4) vs. Chiefs (7-2) – 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC

On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Chargers will look to rectify their loss to the San Francisco 49ers last weekend. However, doing so against a division rival won’t be easy, especially with the offense hurting.
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs took care of business last week, but being down JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman will mean Kadarius Toney and Marquez Valdes-Scantling will have to be the anchors. Kansas City can make a statement with a big win over Los Angeles.
