Joy Behar told her co-hosts Wednesday on ABC’s “The View” that the NFL should “rehire” Colin Kaepernick to compensate for emails from former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden.
Behar said, “The NFL scandal just keeps getting worse. Raiders coach Jon Gruden was forced to resign after years of his racist, homophobic and misogynistic emails were traced as he invested the toxic work environment in another organization, the football team from Washington.
Co-host Sara Haines said, “It was too much at the lowest level. We cannot say these words. We have been reminded 15 times not to do this. But most of us don’t have it on the tip of our tongue anyway.
Co-host Sunny Hostin said: “Or in writing.”
Behar said, “I think if they really want to clean up their act, they should hire Colin Kaepernick. I mean, why doesn’t he have a job while all of this is happening? “
Hostin said: “Because he resisted racism. He stood up for everything I think they wanted to keep hidden and because he stood up for the very culture that still exists in the NFL.
Behar said, “But, wouldn’t that be a good way to cleanse the palace?”
Hostin said: “You think it would, and he was very brave.”
