The choral interpretation of the NFL of the so-called “National Black Hymn” during the 2025 draft had bubbling fans.
A Milwaukee -based choir, the “National Hymn Choir” by James Weldon Johnson Foundation, performed “ Lift Every Voice and Sing ‘, before the draft in Green Bay on Thursday evening.
The choral arrangement was accompanied by a simple pianist in front of the crowds of fans gathered at the Lambeau stadium.
But fans at home were left bubbling on the “gentrified” interpretation of the song.
“Do they have whites singing to lift each voice and sing?” They made gentrified the national black anthem ”, a furious user of social media published.
“It was the white” lift each voice and sing “that I have never heard,” said another.
“Who was the idea of having a choir?!?!” Not really the target demography there, ”questioned a third.
Another furious fan struck, asking: “ What is the kind of gentrified version of Seft each voice and sings ??? ”
“What are we looking at here ?? Choir singer before the project? “, Echo another.” I miss God on the days when the draft of the NFL was only the draft of the NFL. “
