Newspaper advertisement announces Shiloh Jolie’s name change

Shiloh Jolie is about to officially change her last name.

Yesterday it was reported that the 18-year-old daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie took out an ad in the Los Angeles Times, saying she had filed a legal request to have “Pitt” removed from her last name.

Shiloh reportedly began the process in May, on her birthday, by filing the paperwork, but under California law, the petitioner must also have the paperwork published in a newspaper for at least four weeks to get a judge’s approval.

Shiloh isn’t the only child of Brad and Angelina who seems to be trying to change his last name, either.

In May, it was reported that her sister Vivienne, 16, was listed as “Vivienne Jolie” in the Broadway play’s program. The foreignerson which she worked as an assistant and co-producer.

Their sister Zahara, 19, was also seen in a video last year simply introducing herself as “Zahara Marley Jolie” at an event for her college sorority.

Brad and Angelina have six children together, including sons Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, and Knox, 15. A source recently told People that Brad has “virtually no contact with the adult children,” but “does have visitation rights with the younger ones,” per a custody agreement.

So far, neither Brad nor Angelina have publicly commented on Shiloh’s reported attempt to legally change her last name, but Brad is said to be “aware and upset” by it.

“He’s aware and upset that Shiloh dropped her last name,” a source told People. “He’s never felt more joy than when she was born. He’s always wanted a girl.”

The source also said: “Remembering that he lost his children is obviously not easy for Brad. He loves his children and he misses them. It’s very sad.”
