New York Yankees mourn the death of former World Series champion, the Schallock Art launcher, after his death at the age of 100.
From 2022, Schallock had been the oldest player in the Major Baseball League still alive, and his death was announced by the League on Saturday evening.
A statement reads as follows: “ We are saddened to learn the death of art Schallock, which we celebrated last year at its 100th anniversary. Mr. Schallock launched for Yankees and Orioles from 1951 to 1955. He was the oldest player in the MLB and was 101 years old next month.
Schallock played five seasons in the major leagues and was one of three World Series teams, launching in the 1953 series against the Brooklyn Dodgers.
