New York Fed Inflation Expectations: Three-year inflation expectations at 2.9% versus 2.7% previously
- Inflation over one year 3.0% versus 3.0% previously
- Inflation expectations over three years at 2.9% compared to 2.7% previously
- Inflation over five years at 2.6% compared to 2.9% previously
- Expected increase in house prices of 3.0% compared to 3.0% previously
The three-year figure rose successively from 2.4% to 2.7% to 2.9%, a worrying sign, but the five-year decline could indicate to the Fed that it is just noise. I wonder if the one year rate starts to rise with oil prices.
