It’s been a week since one of the strangest NFL-related stories in recent years came out of nowhere, before taking a series of bizarre twists and turns.
And it’s only a matter of time before someone obtains and releases video of the incident that resulted in the stabbing and eventual arrest of former quarterback and current Fox analyst Mark Sanchez in Indianapolis.
Sánchez allegedly approached a 69-year-old truck driver to complain about where the vehicle was parked. Sánchez allegedly claimed that the hotel manager told him the truck was parked in an inappropriate location.
The situation deteriorated from there, with Sanchez allegedly beating the truck driver, Perry Tole, before Tole blasted him with a blast of pepper spray in his face. As Sanchez allegedly continued to move toward Tole, Tole stabbed him multiple times.
For now, visual evidence is emerging. THE New York Post video posted earlier this week of Sanchez walking in downtown Indianapolis after the altercationwith blood on his shirt. On Friday, TMZ.com posted a video of Sanchez previous moments he allegedly approached and beat a 69-year-old truck driver.
Sanchez, according to TMZ.com, “wandered and, at times, stumbled around downtown Indianapolis” during about 20 minutes of surveillance footage.
He faces several criminal charges, including assault and battery. Separately, the alleged victim, Perry Tole, sued Sanchez and Fox for injuries sustained during the fight with Sanchez.
The authorities would have other videos. Whether it’s privately leaked or publicly released, we’ll all see it, inevitably.
