Jason Bourne could be born again. Universal is developing a new version of the action franchise, with In the west, nothing is new director Edward Berger leads the charge, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed.
New Bourne the project is in the early stages of development. Matt Damon, who became an action star with this role in the early 2000s, could potentially get involved, but at this point there is no script, and therefore no star commitment. Deadline announced the news for the first time.
Damon played Bourne in a trilogy of films from 2002 to 2007, then reprized the role in 2016. Jason Bourne. Berger was nominated for an Oscar for the screenplay of In the west, nothing is new, which won best foreign language film among its four Academy Awards. The World War I film, released on Netflix, introduced Berger to a new audience who were unfamiliar with his previous German-language works, including 2014’s. Jack and 2019 All my Love, both praised at the Berlin Film Festival. Focus recently obtained a filmmaker diploma Conclavewhich stars Ralph Fiennes and John Lithgow.
