New footage shows Crewe goalkeeper Alexandra throwing Doncaster keeper’s water bottle with notes into the stands before the penalty shootout

Fan footage captured Crewe Alexandra hero Max Stryjek brazenly throwing the Doncaster Rovers goalkeeper’s bottle into the stands.

Crewe beat Rovers 2-0 on Friday night in their League Two play-off semi-final second leg to make the aggregate score 2-2 with neither team managing to find a winner in extra time, this ended in penalties.

It didn't take long for Stryjek to find the bottle of Lo-Tutala with instructions to avoid penalties.

During the shootout, Stryjek did his best to hinder his opponents. Before it started, the Crewe goalkeeper ran behind the goal where the penalty kicks were going to be taken.

Stryjek then apparently found the bottle of Doncaster goalkeeper Thimothee Lo-Tutala, on loan from Hull City.

He then decided to throw it all the way to the stands towards the Crewe fans outside the Eco-Power Stadium.

A supporter was able to get his hands on the bottle, which contained notes for Lo-Tutala on how to dive for each of Crewe’s penalties.

Stryjek’s mind games initially appeared to not have worked as his team missed their second penalty of the shootout.

Mickey Demetriou saw his effort saved by Lo-Tutala, who came down to his right as instructed on his bottle’s instructions.

However, he did not save another penalty afterwards as Crewe won 4-3 on penalties, with Stryjek saving two efforts himself.

His final save in the shootout proved decisive as he denied Hakeeb Adelakun to send them to Wembley for the play-off final.

Strjek threw the water bottle towards the Crewe supporters outside and out of sight of his counterpart.

Stryjek’s efforts are made even more remarkable by the fact he signed for Crewe on an emergency loan in April from Wycombe.

Tom Booth and Harvey Davies have both been injured and have therefore been left without a fit professional goalkeeper, with Stryjek having made five appearances so far.

He could also be set to start at Wembley for the final, with Crewe facing Crawley Town on Sunday for a place in League One next season.
