New documentary explores the real-life ‘Truman Show’ in Japan

In “The Truman Show,” Jim Carrey’s character Truman learns that his entire life is a lie and he is the subject of a reality TV show. Even before the film hit theaters, a similar real-life scenario was unfolding in Japan: Nasubi, a 22-year-old aspiring comedian, unwittingly became a participant in a twisted reality show. A new documentary explores the show and its impact. Michelle Miller reports.
