Marvel has officially revealed supervillain Sabretooth in Deadpool & Wolverine via a new trailer that hints at a rematch that has been in the works for years.
The new trailer below shows Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman, eager to sink his claws into his long-time rival, Sabretooth, with the Merc with a Mouth cheering him on from the sidelines.
Sabretooth, played by Tyler Mane, was of course one of the first mutants seen in the X-Men movies. In the 2000 X-Men film, Sabretooth was little more than a henchman of Magneto who briefly got into a fight with Wolverine in a snowy forest. Now, he’s back in the multiverse’s shenanigans over 20 years later — and he seems just as angry.
In the trailer, Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool references this long gap before giving some advice while removing CGI swords from Wolverine’s rapidly healing body. Wolverine and Sabretooth then sprint towards each other before the trailer ends.

This trailer isn’t the first look at Sabretooth in Deadpool & Wolverine for fans, as leaked set photos offered a glimpse of the fight back in December. One image showed Deadpool carrying Sabretooth’s severed head, suggesting that Sabretooth’s time in the MCU may be short-lived.
There’s a lot more speculation about what to expect from Deadpool & Wolverine, the only MCU movie of 2024, based on what we’ve seen so far. It comes out on July 26.
