Netflix reported its results for the fourth quarter of 2024. Although many results appear to be good news for the company’s shareholders, such as an operating profit of more than $10 billion and a revenue increase of 16%, , there is a problem for its viewers. Subscription prices are increasing again from today.
“As we continue to invest in programming and deliver more value to our members, we will occasionally ask our members to pay a little more so that we can reinvest to make Netflix even better,” the company told its shareholder. “To this end, today we are adjusting prices for most plans in the United States, Canada, Portugal and Argentina.”
Netflix later confirmed details of the latest price hikes. The Standard plan with ads increases from $7 to $8 per month, while the ad-free version of Standard will increase from $15 to $18 per month. Monthly pricing for Premium, which offers 4K Ultra HD and HDR, will increase from $23 to $25. Adding an additional member from outside your household to a streaming plan is also getting more expensive, going from $8 per month to $9 per month.
