Benjamin Netanyahu visits the White House four days after Donald Trump shocked the world economy with his aggressive price announcement – which includes 17% on Israeli exports to America.

This meeting gives the Israeli Prime Minister a chance to show one case in person that these prices should be lower.

Israel recently abandoned its own prices on American imports, although this decision has not prevented it from being targeted in the president’s new trade policy.

If Trump is willing to listen to – and to conclude an agreement with Israel – this could provide an early example of how, through concessions and personal calls, a country could get out of the current American trade war.

If there is a kind of big announcement, however, this will not happen during an official press conference. The one scheduled for this afternoon was canceled by the White House – without explanation – about an hour before the scheduled start time. Instead, the two men will answer questions from the small press pool during their plate on the oval office.

The White House said that more than 50 world leaders have contacted Trump in recent days to initiate negotiations.

With only two days before the American prices came into force, they do not take care to see closely to see if something concrete comes from current American talks – and what lessons they can learn from it.
