NBA Playoff Odds, Picks, Bets

Experience tends to win out in the NBA Playoffs.

This maxim seems to be confirmed in Nuggets-Timberwolves, because Denver seems to have understood this Minnesota team led by Anthony Edwards.

After falling into a 2-0 hole on their home court, the Nuggets got back on top of the Wolves, winning two straight at Target Center in convincing fashion before returning to Denver with a convincing third straight victory.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Game 6 Picks

(8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN)

Minnesota’s defense has been sensational through two games, but Nikola Jokic and Co. have scored at least 112 points — a solid number in the new, lowest-scoring NBA — in each of their last three wins , including a masterful 40 points, game of 13 assists and no turnover from the Joker in match 5.

The Wolves struggled on the offensive end during this stretch, which was the side of the court they rated as merely average throughout the regular season.

Edwards and Karl Anthony Towns have provided the bulk of Minnesota’s scoring, but they have yet to come out in the same game, combining for just two 20-plus point games in the last three games.

And with general Mike Conley hampered by an Achilles injury, the Wolves simply don’t have enough offensive firepower to keep up with the freight train that is Jokic.

So the question is: Can the Wolves return to their 2004 Pistons-style defensive methods, with just a little offense, and turn this series around?

Or will the Nuggets continue their march toward the NBA Finals, as many basketball forecasters had assumed before the series?

Bet on the NBA?

I’m betting on the latter, treating these first two games in Denver as a mirage that the battle-tested Nuggets have adapted to.

In a series that showed no home-court advantage, don’t be afraid to once again support the Nuggets in a hostile road environment.

The pick: Nuggets moneyline (+112, FanDuel Sportsbook)
