Ryan Dorsey pays tribute to a beloved family member with whom he shared Naya Rivera.
THE Justified the actor wrote a heartfelt message about the dog he adopted with the late Joy actress after the death of the puppy named Emmy at the age of 9.
“Her heart was pounding and she lived a beautiful life,” Ryan wrote in the April 7 Instagram post. “She would have been 10 this summer… It was a tough weekend.”
Ryan – who split from Naya in 2018 after four years of marriage – then shared how their furry family member came into their lives, explaining that he and Naya went to San Diego together to look for her.
“You were the runt of the litter,” Ryan remembers. “The last one is gone. You already had the name of an award so we didn’t even change it. Emmy you were. Aka Emmington Brown aka Sweet Baby Emmers.”
After carrying Emmy across the parking lot alongside her “new mom,” the 40-year-old remembers bursting into tears.
