Navdeep Singh’s money turned to gold

Navdeep Singh’s silver medal in the men’s F41 javelin throw final was upgraded to gold shortly after the final ended. Why? Because Iran’s Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified for violating Rule 8.1 of the World Paralympic Athletics Rules and Regulations (Code of Conduct and Ethics).

In the final, Navdeep suffered three illegal throws and three legal throws. Navdeep managed to throw distances of 46.39m, 47.32m (personal best) and 46.05m in his three legal attempts. Before being disqualified, Sadegh’s best throw was 47.64m.

Simran Sharma wins bronze
