National Unity MK Pnina Tamano-Shata submitted a bill on Thursday to dissolve the 25th Knesset, according to party officials.

In mid-May, Gantz issued an ultimatum to the Netanyahu government, telling it that if its demands were not met by June 8, he would withdraw from the unity government formed after October 7.
“Essential decisions have not been made. Critical leadership decisions to ensure victory were not made. A small minority has taken the command bridge of the Israeli state ship and is steering it toward the rocks,” Gantz said when announcing the ultimatum.
The ultimatum
Gantz listed six goals that Netanyahu should achieve to prevent the government from withdrawing national unity.
Most of the points revolve around the return of the hostages and the end of the war, and others deal with the return to normalcy for Israeli citizens.
Two points make it extremely difficult for Netanyahu to accept the ultimatum. First, the third point calls for multilateral control of the Gaza Strip, which has already been rejected by several of the proposed supporters, including the United Arab Emirates.
Second, point six calls for the creation of a standardized conscription model for the entire country, something Shas and United Torah Judaism’s main coalition partners explicitly oppose.
Likud responded to the bill accusing Gantz of fostering division in the country: “The dissolution of the unity government is a reward for Sinwar, a capitulation to international pressure and a fatal blow to efforts to free our hostages. »
National Unity responded, saying Netanyahu had brought about the dissolution of the government by putting his personal interest ahead of the national interest. “Netanyahu, it is not too late to come to your senses – either together we will win – or you will continue alone with the principle of ‘divide and rule’,” they said.
