Nashville police confirm more details on the shooting at Antioch high school

Nashville, Tennessee (WTVF) – The authorities of the Nashville metropolitan region’s police service provided information updated on Thursday after a shooting in the antioch high school cafeteria the day before.

Police said Solomon Henderson, 17, was responsible for the murder of Josselin Corea Escalante, 16, and having grazed another student. He then committed suicide.

The MNPD said that Henderson had been brought to school on Wednesday by his mother. Police initially declared that he had arrived at school by bus.

The police said that Henderson had fired ten times with his nine millimeter pistol in 17 seconds inside the cafeteria. There were nine cartridges left when it was recovered by the authorities.

No other weapon was found in Solomon’s house, police said.

Newschannel 5 investigators found two different documents supposed to belong to Henderson: a 51 -page writing and what seemed to be a 288 -page newspaper. The two were put online and were not found in tangible newspapers, unlike the shooting of The Covenant School.

You can read his newspaper by pressing this link and his 51 -page writings on this link. These documents showed that Henderson was starting to sink into an emotional spiral as it approached its target date before the shooting. In the end, he describes having felt in a hurry as he started to feel “the fear of being nourished before doing anything”. His shorter writings showed a plan of the Lycée d’Antioche, photos of a handgun, a picking kit and cartridges to load the handgun. He wanted to broadcast his attack on the cafeteria live. The writings were linked to a social network account which would be that of Henderson. He published the writings on the account before the cafeteria shooting.

Police said they thought Henderson posted on her social networks just before the shooting.

“It is clear that Henderson was significantly influenced by web equipment, in particular by that found on non -traditional sites that most would find harmful and reprehensible. The FBI works in close collaboration with the MNPD in the ideological influences part of this investigation. “

The police said that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF) worked with the MNPD to determine the origin of the weapon used by Henderson and how they came into her possession. Police said they knew that the pistol used had been bought by an individual in Arizona in 2022. He had not been reported as stolen.

The department continues to discuss regularly with the school system concerning the security of the campus and classrooms, in particular in Antioch High when the courses resume next week.
