The DEI chief officer in the NASA lab propulsion jet was dismissed after his title was modified to hide it from the Donald Trump war against diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Trump and “First Buddy” Elon Musk were happy warriors against Dei, working to rid the federal government of what they call unjust practices.
Neela Rajendra had directed the central office for the diversity of the laboratory, at some point, arguing that having deadlines for work projects undermines the inclusion, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
However, in the middle of a series of 900 job cuts due to the budgeting problems carried out in 2024, the diversity office was cut, but Rajera was mysteriously maintained.
She had had all the references to Dei washed from her title, but would have kept many of the same tasks as “head of employees’ success”.
At the beginning of March, Rajendra was still in charge of the laboratory’s “Black Excellence Strategic Team”.
However, earlier this week, in response to the reports it was protected from the Trump Dei Cuts administration, the laboratory separated from Rajendra.
“Neela Rajera will no longer work in (the Jet Propulsion Laboratory). We are incredibly grateful for the lasting impact it has had on our organization. We wish him the best, ” wrote Laboratory Leshin on Thursday in an email of everything.

She also said that the new Dei-Lite office of team excellence and the success of Rajera employees was to go to human resources.
The news comes while NASA has ended its programs of diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEI) after all the federal agencies were responsible for “ending” the initiatives.
The staff received an email at the end of January from the acting administrator Janet Petro, who said that the space agency “ took measures to close all the offices of the Deia agency and put an end to all the contracts related to the DEIA in accordance with the executive decree of President Trump ”.
The order is entitled “to put an end to the radical and useless programs of the Government DEI and to the preference and to the initial cancellations of harmful decrees and actions”.
NASA email admitted that “these programs divided the Americans by race, wasted the dollars of taxpayers and led to shameful discrimination”.
The space agency spent at least $ 22.4 million a year for such programs.
Dailymail.com had discovered that millions of dollars of taxpayers had been distributed for the analysis of DEI data and to help the agency “getting into a company to incorporate and deeply climb diversity, inclusion, equity and accessibility in culture and business”.
Petro, who is the first woman to direct NASA as an acting administrator, also urged staff to report colleagues who tried to hide Dei programs with coded language.

“There will be no negative consequences for the timely declaration of this information,” says the email. “However, the non-report of reports of this information within 10 days can cause harmful consequences.”
The Staff Management Office (OPM), the Human Resources Agency for the American Federal Government, has also created a messaging account to collect alleged Dei initiative reports.
Kyle Sorensen, a software engineer who worked for NASA, told Dailymail.com: “I am really happy to have banned these programs.
“I am even happier than the Trump administrator is intelligent enough to know that the organization would try to rename itself.”
While the actual administrator’s email seemed to criticize the Dei’s initiatives, the same message was sent to all federal agencies to transmit to their employees.
The Trump administration sent the letter to all the leaders and the actual government organizations during its first week in power, informing them all federal employees in the DEI roles must be put on paid leave.
The letter also required that all the public web pages focused on the DEI be taken offline, which was roughly at the same time when NASA sent the e-mail to the staff and deleted its Dei website.
The space agency’s page now has an “404” error with the message: “the cosmic object you are looking for has disappeared beyond the event of the event”.

An employee shared on X that he followed DEI training and that was one of the employees’ exams.
While Nancy Vreils, responsible for quality files at NASA, shared: “Dei ruined NASA. Innovation is nonexistent.
NASA has launched itself into the efforts of I for more than a decade, first creating the strategic plan for diversity and inclusion in 2012.
The agency The expenses of 2022 to the present day have been largely focused on environmental programs.
More than a million dollars in subsidies have been “assessed for environmental justice in air quality”, advancing environmental justice in Los Angeles and “examining environmental justice through indigenous tools of the open source cloud”.
A subsidy, exceeding $ 150.00, was granted to the Cleveland State University to improve monitoring and management of urban trees.
Oregon State University received a commitment of more than $ 450,000 to study the agricultural decisions of refugees in Uganda.
The description of the subsidy has shown that the results of the project “will directly support information based on the location of refugees that are requested in the refugee response plan in Uganda”.
We do not know how the results would progress the objectives of NASA.
