Napa Valley Wine Train Serves a Gourmet Dinner to Guests While Hosting a Murder Mystery

NAPA, Calif. — Every year, people from all over the world come to Napa Valley to enjoy its incredible food, unforgettable wine, and breathtaking views. One of the most memorable ways to experience it all is aboard the historic Napa Valley Wine Train.

“The Napa Valley Wine Train is more than a restaurant on wheels. It’s an attraction that can create memories that last a lifetime,” shares Nathan Davis, Napa Valley Wine Train General Manager, “It truly transports you to a different place, a different time.”

Visitors to the area can choose from many different experiences.

“The ‘Legacy Experience’ is a six-hour experience,” Davis reveals. “It includes three wine tasting stops, a five-course meal, and the best entertainment.”

However, one of the unique events involves a murder mystery.

“The train murder mysteries are like classics,” enthused Emeri, Northern California director of The Murder Mystery Company.

“It’s such a popular trope like in literature, in movies, in media,” adds contestant Jason.

“I wanted to do what I saw on TV,” says contestant Nicole.

The Murder Mystery Co. has different themes to choose from, but the most popular is a 1920s gangster mystery.

“It took me back to the 20s,” Kevin says, “Everyone dressed up in costume one way or another.”

“It was a very unique experience where I almost felt like I was in a movie,” says participant Krystal.

During the evening, the guests work together to solve a fictional murder.

“What’s really special about what we do is that we don’t put on a show to watch, but we actually put on a show that they can participate in,” says Emeri.

The mystery of the evening is accompanied by a three-course gourmet meal.

“Quality food prepared daily from scratch by the best producers as local as possible, by a team that is not the best in the valley”, announces Davis, “We offer the wine list among the best in our selection from Napa Valley.”

“The starter was wonderful, the dessert was perfect,” says contestant Nicole.

Whether the guests manage to identify the murderer or not, it’s no mystery that the evening turns out to be a highlight.

“A phenomenally fun night that we absolutely loved,” says Kevin.

“It’s one of the best memories,” comments Nicole.

“When people arrive, they arrive as strangers,” Davis notes, “When they come out of our station at the end of the day, they leave as friends or family.”
