Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul, involved in a car accident, rammed a Porsche into a Jeep before his arrest for impaired driving in Napa, California, according to the CHP

NAPA, Calif. (KGO) — Reaction from across the country as House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was arrested for impaired driving in Napa on Saturday night. We have learned that Pelosi’s husband hit another vehicle in his 2021 Porsche.

Video of a busted fence and a downed sign was part of the Napa County crash scene where House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, was arrested for DUI on Saturday night in the Napa County. President Pelosi was across the country in Rhode Island, giving a commencement address Sunday to graduates.

“I don’t think we should pay much attention to what her husband is doing because, again, he’s not an elected official,” said political science professor Melissa Michelson, who is also dean of arts. and science at Menlo College.

Michelson also says this DUI in Napa puts the speaker and other lawmakers front and center in a very bad light.

Paul Pelosi, 82, had a blood alcohol level of 0.08 or higher according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP says Paul Pelosi was driving his 2021 Porsche eastbound on Walnut Drive and attempted to cross Highway 29 when he hit someone driving a Jeep.

“I think that’s a misrepresentation of the President and Congress in general, hey, these are pressing issues here and instead your husband is walking around Napa, you’re in Rhode Island giving a speech at a university chic, what are you doing to keep America safe and move our conversation forward on what needs to be done about all these shootings,” Michelson says.

CHP says this crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Paul Pelosi was arrested just over an hour later. Bail was set at $5,000 and he was released Sunday morning in an accident where no one was injured.

The California Highway Patrol did not say where Paul Pelosi was from or where he was headed.

Upon arrival, Napa area units determined the incident to be a non-injury accident involving two vehicles. The driver of the Porsche (Party Number 1, Pelosi) was traveling east on Walnut Lane and attempted to cross SR-29, when his Porsche was struck by a group traveling north on SR-29 ( Party Number 2, Lopez) driving a Jeep.
