A woman dragged screaming from the door of a Wichita home, all captured in a viral security camera video, has been found safe, Kansas police confirmed, following a two-day search that attracted national attention.
The Wichita Police Department said the 35-year-old woman was found Tuesday afternoon “without serious injuries.”
Investigators now believe it was a case of domestic violence involving her 22-year-old boyfriend, who was arrested hours later on several charges, including aggravated battery and strangulation and criminal coercion. His name has not been released and prosecutors will decide whether to file formal charges.
The video, captured by a home security camera around 2 a.m. Sunday, showed a man grabbing the woman from behind and dragging her down an alley as she screamed.
The images, released by police as part of a call for information, sparked widespread concern on the Internet.
This renewed attention “led the woman to call us to tell us she was the person we were looking for,” according to authorities.
The homeowner who captured the footage told NBC News she almost didn’t check her security camera that night.
