My TEMU order has arrived – at no additional cost. Will you be so lucky?

Of course, the national difficulties in price increases related to prices are just beginning. But my personal stress journey on a recent TEMU order? Phew, it’s done! Our nation can push a sigh of relief.

To make up for you on my heartbreaking personal drama: the day before the “Liberation Day”, I placed a farewell order in Temu, the electronic commerce market which sends orders (mainly) directly from China.

In addition to promulgating prices, Donald Trump also said that he would end the minimis escape that allowed TEMU, Shein and others to send orders with values ​​less than $ 800 from China to customers in the United States without paying service fees. This escape was the foundation of the surprisingly low prices of Temu and Shein on clothing and trinkets.

Details of closing the minimis rule have sometimes been a bit clear-a bit like back and forth with Trump’s prices. Initially, it was not clear when the exception of the hard minimis would be in force, and I feared that when my order arrives, I could be slapped with high costs of $ 75.

Now, it seems that the escape of minimis ends on May 2, which means that some last expeditions – including mine – were able to sneak under the wire.

I obtained three bubble / coils machine objects.

TEMU and Shein both published declarations on their websites to have them warned that price increases will soon be struck.

What is a bit strange is that the two sites, which belong to different mother companies, have the same message, labeled exactly the same – only the name of the company at the end is different. (Temu and Shein did not immediately answer a question about how they ended up with the same declaration.) The declarations say:
