My Adventures with Superman shares first look at steel

John Henry Irons has been revealed in a new preview for My Adventures With Superman.

My Adventures with Superman didn’t shy away from introducing numerous comic book characters into the Adult Swim animated series. So far, Clark Kent fans have seen all-new versions of Lex Luthor, Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, Live Wire, Parasite and more. While the first few episodes of season two have already planted the seeds for Darkseid, a new preview adds a major Metropolis ally to Superman’s roster as John Henry Irons has been introduced to the forefront.

For those who may not be familiar with John Henry Irons, the armored superhero was first introduced as a construction worker saved by Superman during a work accident. Inspired by the Man of Steel, Irons would create a suit of armor that would allow him to pick up where Clark Kent left off after Superman’s death in the fight against Doomsday. Since his introduction in the “Reign of the Supermen” storyline, Steel will not only appear in a multitude of animated series, but will also receive his own live-action film thanks to Shaquille O’Neal’s film. Steel.

My Adventures with Superman: The beginnings of steel

While the new preview doesn’t give viewers many clues as to how John Henry Irons enters the Adult Swim series, it does give us a look at a very different set of armor the superhero wears. In the comics, Steel’s armor looks much more similar to that of Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit, although it has a gray color scheme and a large hammer at his side. In My Adventures with Superman, the armor appears much larger and looks more like a mechanical suit than a sleeker comic book iteration.

If you would like a reminder about the next season of My Adventures with Superman will be on the subject, Cartoon Network shared the following description: “In the final season, the three best friends face a host of new threats. Powerful enemies will emerge from Clark’s alien past, Amanda Waller will take aim at Superman, Lois will struggle with the future, and Jimmy Olsen will spend an incredible amount of money Krypton is coming for our young heroes, and its arrival will test their strength, their loyalty and their love like never before.
