Like most audiences and critics, Iman Vellani didn’t seem to appreciate the 2024 fiasco Madame Webaccording to his recent Letterboxd rating of the film.
Madame Web released in February 2024 to widespread negative reviews, with its name recognition seemingly due more to the memes it spawned than the film itself. Audiences criticized everything from the acting to the writing, all due to a myriad of production issues and miscommunications.
This (perhaps expected) audience reception was comparable to that of the Sony Spider-Man universe, with similar responses to both. Morbius And Kraven the Hunter. The first, in fact, became such a popular meme that it returned to film and failed a second time.
